Nail Plates

Nail Plates, also called Stud Guards are designed to be hammered into the front of a wood stud to protect electrical wiring or plumbing that pass through the stud. The wires and pipes are then shielded from any screws or nails that might be applied to the area when installing drywall.

Nail plates and stud guards are used to prevent nails or screws from piercing and damaging water and gas pipes, and electric wires. To protect utility lines in water, the nail stopper is installed over each point where wires and pipes pass through framing in the walls.
